Path lights are designed to send light downward, onto a path and steps.

Electrical systems can be fickle. In general however, if your lighting system fails to function properly, there are two very simple things you can check to get them working again.
The transformers that provide power and control for all your landscape lighting is plugged into your outdoor sockets. There are a variety of reasons your transformer may become unplugged. In many cases, simply plugging your transformer back in, will bring your lights back on.
Most outdoor power sources use Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter sockets, also known as a "GFCI" or "GFI". There are a variety of reasons a GFCI can "trip". In general, a GFCI socket will "trip" due to a surge of power being drawn on the socket. A tripped GFCI can easily be reset by pressing the reset button on the GFCI socket. Resetting your GFCI socket will allow the power to turn back on for your transformer.
Another very common cause for your outdoor lighting system failing, is a cut wire. Regular landscaping or new construction can inadvertently lead to a cut wire somewhere in your system. This can be a simple repair, but may take some time to locate where the wire has been cut. In this case, you will need to contact Orion Outdoor Lighting to come out and troubleshoot your system to locate the cut wire and repair it.
Now that we have gone over the 3 most common causes of outdoor lighting failure, lets go over how we can quickly determine which one may be affecting your outdoor lighting system.
If all your lights do not come one, more than likely it is a power source problem. Check to ensure your transformer is plugged in. If you have more than one transformer, you may need to check all of them to ensure each transformer is ON.
If your transformer is indeed plugged in, the next step is to ensure the socket your transformer is plugged into has power coming to it. This is when you would check whether the GFCI socket has tripped. You can quickly and easily do this by pressing the reset button. If your GFCI socket "clicks" when you reset it, your transformer should come back on. In some cases, whether your outdoor socket is a GFCI or not, the circuit may be tripped at the electrical panel inside your house or garage.
If some of your lights do turn on, and multiple other lights do not, this is most likely a cut wire somewhere. While this can be a quick and easy fix, it may take a while to locate where the wire is cut. Do not pull up all your wire to look for it. Contact Orion Outdoor Lighting so they can come out and find the cut wire without tearing up your landscaping.
If you have a single light here and there that is not coming on, more than likely it is a bad bulb or single bad fixture that will need to be replaced.
